New Rule

No power sawing in the living room.

I've been working on putting this closet organization thingie in my bedroom closet so that I can, uh, organize my closet. It was supposed to take me two hours to do it all last Wednesday, but then it ended up taking me two hours to rip the old closet out. Then I was really busy Thursday, Friday and part of the day on Saturday. So for a couple of days, I just had all of my clothes (not just hangy clothes, because my foldy clothes had previously been on shelves and boxes in my closet--ALL my clothes) all over the place. The couch, the floor, one side of the bed, the other floor...So I finished it all up on Saturday except I needed a single shelf to go all the way across the top.

I went to Home Depot to get a shelf last night, but I didn't buy it because, well, that's just how I roll. I like to make two trips out of everything. At least two trips. Actually, my life is now just a series of trips to Home Depot with a couple of other things to do in between.

"Why didn't you just go to Lowe's today, Robbie?" you may ask. "There's a Lowe's 5 minutes from where you live and Home Depot is, like, 15 minutes away."

I KNOW. So I went to Lowe's today and they didn't have the right length of shelf. I needed 56.5 inches of shelf. Lowe's had 48" and then 91." Home Depot had 72" for $2 less than Lowe's's 91". So you can see how it made perfect sense for me to leave Lowe's and drive 20 minutes (passing home) and go all the way out to Home Depot in order to save $2. Also, I don't know how I would have gotten a 91" piece of melamine shelving into my car. I struggled enough with the 72" piece. Also, there's a Chipotle right by the Home Depot I go to (Chesterfield Town Center).

So I got to use my power saw for the first time ever. I've had it for a couple of years. It came with a set including a drill and a flashlight that all use the same batteries. I don't know how I lived life before I owned a drill. Today I'm really glad I had that saw. And I'm glad that I have a shop vac.

I really liked using the saw, so if you have anything you need sawed, I'll be more than glad to come out and cut some stuff up for you.

Advent Conspiracy

Lots of you have already seen this, probably. I think it's pretty awesome in many ways.

Wow. Just wow.

I don't even know quite what to make of this story.

I can't imagine what I would do in such a situation. The whole thing is somewhat distressing, but I'm really glad that they picked a church of true Christ lovers to assault in this way.

It would be a totally different thing if this had happened in one of the "radical right" churches that actually speak the hate-speech that ends up being attributed to the body of Christ at large. On a sick, weak, human level, it would seem that a kind of justice had been done.

But here is God's justice: The "punishment" that the activists wish to execute does not go to the ones who would seem to deserve it. It goes to the ones who can withstand it and who will not retaliate but will instead offer up prayers for their attackers.

Amazing.

I just got my heart re-melted.

This is a multimedia experience centered around a word from Graham Cooke. It says in the title that it's "mostly for women." I don't get that at all. I think it's mostly for anybody who has ears and eyes. Besides, anyone who knows me knows that I am secure enough in my true masculinity that I don't have a problem with being God's Woman.

Anyway, enjoy.

Well, I've learned something.

When you post pictures from your iPhone to your Blogger Blog, you must put the caption before the picture in the post. It seems that any text that comes after the picture is just done away with. Meanwhile, text that you put above the picture somehow ends up below it.

Other than that, I can't tell you anything because either I don't understand or it's a secret. I'm not even sure which, in this case.

Spicy tomato soup with grilled cheese.

James Talley is working hard.

EXPERIMENT!!

I think I have figured out how to blog from my phone so that I can
offer up to the minute news and information in a non-facebook
environment.

I shall now attempt to post some words as well as pictures.
